- The purpose of this study was to find empirical evidence regarding gender differences in levels of role stress experienced by the internal auditors of the government/the government inspectorates as well as examine the influence of antecedents and consequences of burnout. Based on some research on external auditors indicate that the level of role stress (antecedents) a positive effect on burnout and job burnout negatively affect outcomes (consequences). By using a sample of internal auditors of government / DIY provincial inspectorate to examine gender differences in role stress and the influence of the antecedents and consequences of burnout, the sampling technique used purposive sampling method. The results, is that there are no gender differences related to role stress experienced internal auditors of the government/the government inspectorate, role stress had no effect on burnout, burnout is caused by other factors and negatively affect on job outcomes
