- community Buton Utara Wildlife Reserve is one of rich in flora diversity. Tree as a part of forest ecosystem is a plant that has potential as a medicinal tree. The linkage between components of forest, including medicinal tree spesies will interact to form an ecosystem with spesific characteristics and complex relationships. The content of econdary metabolic compounds of medicinal tree species have not been studied, so the potential of medicinal tree species need to use for humanity as well to keep the sustainability of it�s tree and explore it�s natural material for use as medicine. 106.8 The study was conducted in Buton Utara Wildlife Reserve Sub Block Labungke with hectares area, the distance between plots is 150 m and the line spacing is 200 m, sampling intensity is 1,57%. The parameters tested were the frequency, density, importance value index, and an index of species diversity. Semi-structured interview method was used to get to know the potential of medicinal trees species. Phytochemical test medicinal tree species include the Alkaloids test, Saponins, Flavanoid and Tannins test were done to get to know the content of secondary metabolic compounds of tree. The highest value of frequency and density of trees is Kulit Lawan (Cinnamomum culilawan BI.) of 0.26 and 0.14 while the lowest value of the frequency and density is Kanare (Canarium commune Linn) of 0.09 and 0.04. The diversity index of tree species with high medicinal tree value 0.587 and 1.779 all of tree. There are 74 species at the location of the study, 16 kinds of them including medicinal tree species. Based on phytochemical test from 9 medicinal tree species only Penaga Lilin (Messua ferrea L.) that containing all of Alkaloids, Saponins, Flavanoid, and Tannins test.
