  • The goal of this research is to see whether SQ3R method (Survey, Question, Read, Recite and Review) can be increasing studentsâ��s reading comprehension in elementary school. SQ3R method is a method of teaching active reading strategies. This research involved subjects at fifth grade students with the characteristics 10-11 years old and have average intelligence level. This research uses an experimental method with give treat SQ3R of reading training. Measurement of reading comprehension ability use reading comprehension test including literal comprehension (explicit) and inferential (implied). This research uses an Untreated Control Group Design with pretest and posttest design. Data analysis in this research use test statistic Mann Whitney. The results of this research shows that the SQ3R method of reading training can increasing studentsâ��s reading comprehension in elementary school.
