- This research has been conducted for the synthesis of Bismut NatriumTitanat (BNT) piezoelectric material using sol gel method. BNT piezoelectric material is lead free (Pb) so it is environmentally friendly piezoelectric materials. Until now Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT) is the best quality piezoelectric material ingredients but it is toxic because it contains lead element. The use of sol-gel method for the synthesis of piezoelectric BNT materials expected to produce materials that have good quality (equivalent to PZT or more) and lower sintering temperatures. The success of the synthesis of materials through sintering process is very dependent on the mixing of the ingredients. In this study, the sintering temperature was varied 400 °C, 500 °C, 600 °C, 700 °C and 800 °C for 4 hours and yellow powder was produced. BNT further characterized by using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).Keywords: BNT, Sol gel, Sintering, Solid state reaction, Chemical method.
