- This study aims at determining the factors associated withacademic achievement and competency test of midwifery students. Thedesign of this study was co-relational analytic survey with a retrospectiveapproach. The total population of this study was 260 of midwiferystudents. The total sample was 108 students taken by using purposivesampling technique. The data analysis used in this study wasnonparametric statistical tests. The results showed that the factorsassociated with Grades Point Average (GPA) were national of finalvalue (p=0.019), grades on the previous education (p=0.034), psychotest (p=0.038), and scholarships (p=0.042). Some other factors suchas quation intelligence, interests, organizational activity, income,occupation, education level of parents were not associated with thestudents' GPA. Furthermore, those factors also did not relate to theircompetency test results. There was no association between the studentsGPA and their competency test results.Keywords: academic achievement, competency test
