- The emergence of internet has favored the development of electronic scholarly communication. Access to a timely, up-to-date, and appropriate information resource underlies the concepts of changing the traditional printed kournal to electronic format. The discussion about printed versus electronic kournal involves many concerned institutions, such as publishers and libraries, especially when it comes to the prices. Studies had ben conducted to measure the comparison of the prices of both formats as well as the advantages and disadvantages of them. The following article will illustrate in detail the comparison of the two formats and how they will affect the academic library budget. At the end of the information while securing the budget.
