- Artpaper (recycled paper) paper is customarily used as materials for craft. Art paper is usually made from unused paper such as newspaper, cardboard, used books or using crop wastes whichcontains high fiber. The materials used to make art paper is the stem of the plant bark underutilized by the society. The raw materials are processed through biochemical pulping. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of art paper from the stem of the plant bark through the process of biochemical pulping of mixed cultures mushroom (T versicolor and P chrysosporium) with long cooking in NaOH with parameter test research tensile strength, tear strength and sensory (color, appearance of the fiber, texture and acceptance). This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern. The 1st factor is long incubation (L), L1 = 30 days, L2 = 45 days and 2ndfactor is long ripening in NaOH (P), P1 = 1 hour, P2 = 2 hours with 4 treatments. The results showed that for the highest tensile strength and tear on the treatment L2P1 worth 0.18 N / mm2 tensile strength and 15.27 N for tear strength. The test results of sensory showed thatthe texture wasdominantly morerough just on treatment L2P2 and the treatment L1P1 showed a smooth texture, the dominant fibers appearance seemedless in treatment L2P2 while the appearance of the fibers were not visible on the treatment L1P2, most dominant color was light brown in treatment L2P1, the power acceptance generally in the treatment L1P1.
