Pola Konsumsi Makanan Cepat Saji (Fast Food), Status Gizi Dan Kenaikan Berat Badan Pada Mahasiswa FIK Dan FT Universitas Muhamammadiyah Surakarta

- Introduction : Fast food is a ready to eat food and available in quick service, such as fried chicken, hamburgers or pizza. Consumption of fast food frequently and less exercise will lead to unhealthy weight gain without exercise from consuming fast food. Will be stored and accumulate in the body and then lead to overweight. Objective : To determine the relationship between the frequency of fast food consumption on nutritional status and weight gain in Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Engineering students Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Methods : This study was an observational with cross sectional approach The frequency of fast food consumption obtained using a semiquantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQ). The initial body weight obtained from the data when students enter the college while final body weight obtained during the research period. Analysis of data using Spearman rank correlation test. Results : The most frequent consumption of fast most was students from faculty of engineering (73.7%) and average / week 3.44 x / week. Overweight students were majority from faculty of engineering (51.4%). The most weight gain was on faculty of engineering students (63.6%) and the average weight gain is 0.489 kg. Conclusion : The was no significant between association frequency of consumption of fast food and the nutritional status of faculty of health science students (p=0,009) and there was no association between the frequency of fast food consumption and nutritional status of faculty of engineering students (p=0,100). There was a significant association between the frequency of consumption of fast food and weight gain of faculty of health science students (p=0,000) and there was a relationship between the frequency of fast food consumption and weight gain of faculty of engineering students (p=0,000).
