- Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam that obligatoryfor any muslims who are able. Many muslim from all countries will come to the holy land during the pilgrimage season. Pilgrims with different backgrounds and abilities will be present to perform the pilgrimage, no exception in individuals with visual impairment. Despite the less than perfect conditions, the spirit of blind pilgrims not slacken, so it takes appropriate coping strategies to overcome any problems that come up, so that the pilgrimage goes according to expectations. The study aim to understand the dynamic of coping strategi on pilgrims visually impaired trough a case study approach. Research informant was a man aged 65 years old with blindness ever a pilgrimage to the holy land. Data was collected by interview, observation, and documentation. Analyzed with descriptive narativ form. Result showed that the motivation of blind people performed hajj is determination of self and environtmen religious support. Factors of coping strategies at the blind pilgrims are psychological and spiritual. Aspect of coping strategies at the visually impaired pilgrim among other efforts, self-control, and social support. The dominan from coping strategies do pilgrims blind is mechanism of patience and gratitude.
