- This research paper elaborates the Indonesian-English translation of opinion and cover story in TEMPO magazine applying linguistic form and translation analysis. There are two problem statements in this research paper; 1) what are the linguistics forms of source language (SL) and target language (TL) sentence on opinion and cover story columns in TEMPO magazine? 2) How is the accuracy of translated sentence on opinion and cover story column in TEMPO magazine? The researcher’s reason in applying the translation theory is that this research uses more detailed point of view, on translation method and linguistic form. The data sources of this research paper are four pairs of English and Indonesian Tempo Magazine issued from April 2007-.June 2008. The data are in the form of phrases and sentences. There are 30 (thirty) data gathered in this research. In gathering the data, the researcher uses descriptive qualitative method. The result of the research paper are; 1) most of the data are in the form of noun phrase are 16 (54%), verb phrase 3 (10%), sentences 10 (34%), and prepositional phrase is 1 (3%), 2) The translation in accurate translation is 7 data (23%) and inaccurate translation is 23 data (77%).
