  • Teaching Qur’anic characters method through reading and writing Qur’an as an extracurricular activity at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta is hopefully can give a contribution as a character education that focuses on not only teaching about good or bad, but also about the habituation process of good will give a good behavior about learning Qur’an through reading and writing Qur’an program. The characteristic Qur’ani program in order the method of indernalizing Qur’anic characters through reading and writing at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta to be run effectively according to the aim of teaching characteristic Qur’ani at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta, the researcher has been motivated to do research “Teaching Qur’ani Characteristic Method Through Reading and Writing Extra Curricular Activity at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta in 2015/2016”. According to that background, the purpose of this research is to understand what is the reading and writing method and the Qur’anic characters that are used at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta. The researcher has used qualitative approach on this research, and has applied observation, interview,and documentation methods for gathering data. Based onthe research at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta, researcher understand that learning methods which are used at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta are: (1) Iqrā method, which means a method to read Qur’an, used to understand reading aspect of the students. (2) Tallaqī method (classical), Which means that, teacher reads an ayahs which to be memorized by the student, and he has to repeat again in several times until he memorizes it. (3) Murājἁah method Which means repeating ayah that have been learned by the students. Qur’anic character that builds on reading and writing Al-Qur’an program at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta, hopefully can give a good moral value to the student, and they can do the Qur’anic characters on their daily activities like discipline, honest, loving Qur’an, and they use Qur’an as their live direction.
