High number of incidents of child diarrhea caused by factors poor sanitation facilities and hygiene is lacking, it also includes the less self hygiene. One of the prevention effort diarrheal disease is to familiarize school children washing hands before and after performing the activity at the time is important. The purpose of this research is to know the relation behavior of hand washing with genesis of diarrhea in children ages pre school in Kalikotes village of old and Klaten. The method of this research is a descriptive cross sectional approach to correlation. The sample of this research as much as 62 children pre school with the total sampling method sampling of the entire population. Research instrument in the form of sheets checklist for handwashing behavior, while for the incidence of diarrhoea do interviews to the mother or parents of the child. Data analysis using Chi Square test. The research results obtained data 42 children (82.3%) do wash your hands well, and 20 children (17.7%) is still less well in doing hand-washing. The incidence of diarrhea in children pre-school age retrieved data 19 children (30.6%) experienced diarrhea, and 43 children (69.4%) do not experience diarrhea.
