  • In this research paper the writer tries to find the effective solution to improve the speaking skill of the second year students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Masaran by employing simulation as a method of teaching speaking. This research is aimed at knowing the implementation of simulation and the effectiveness of the simulation in improving the student’s speaking to the second year students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Masaran, and the students’ response of teaching speaking by simulation. In gathering the data, the writer employs descriptive qualitative research which produces the descriptive data in the form of written on oral words form observing people and behavior. This classroom action research is carried out at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Masaran Sragen. The subject of the study is teacher and the 46 students of VIII A class at the second year. The writer used descriptive method in this research, so in conducting her research, the writer does some ways to collect the data, such as doing observation, analyzing documentation, and conducting interview. The result of the research paper shows that; (1) implementation of simulation technique in teaching learning process brings improvement for the second year students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Sragen, (2) It is effective, because from the pre-test and post-test statistic score, there is a significant improvement from all the students, and (3) In general, the students’ response concerning the implementation of simulation technique is good as it is shown by students’ great motivation and enthusiasm.
