- Background: Balance is the ability to maintain the body's center of mass or centre of gravity on base of support at a position which is influenced by the ensory system, musculoskeletal and external effects. Flat foot is one of musculoskeletal disorders in children. At the age of 5-6 years is a period of development of the child's motor skills particularly excellent balance of stimulation in the form of the game. One of stimulation to improve the balance of the flat foot children aged 5-6 year is tightrope walker. Objective: To determine the effect of exercise tightrope walker to balance the flat foot children aged 5-6 years. Methods: The study was a quasi experiment with pre and post test with control group design, sample in the treatment group was given 4 weeks of exercise tightrope walker with a frequency of 3 times a week. Measurements using a oneleg stance balance test. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test to test the effect and influence of different test using Mann Whitney test. Results: There is a tightrope walker exercise influence on the balance of the flat foot children aged 5-6 years after statistical test using Wilcoxon test p-value of 0.001 obtained in the treatment group and 0,014 in the control group, as well as the influence of different test dilakuakan using Mann Whitney statistical test test was obtained p-value 0.033. Conclusion: There was effect tightrope walker exercise on the balance of the flat foot children aged 5-6 years.
