  • Background: According to profile of health of Central Java Province of 2009 indicated that coverage of exclusive breastfeeding was only about 40.21%, although there was an increase compared to 2008 that was only 28.96%. However, based on national data the Central Java Province was perceived to have very low performance in achieving MDGs target of 2014, namely 100%, and only four regencies with exclusive breastfeeding achievement of 60 %, namely Banyumas, Klaten, Sukoharjo and Blora. Purpose of the Research: Purpose of the research is to know correlation between education level of mother and attitude of exclusive breastfeeding in area of Puskesmas Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency. Method of the Research: The research is an observational-analytical one with cross-sectional approach. Respondents of the research are 88 mothers taken by using cluster random sampling. Chi-square test is used to know correlation between education level of mother and attitude of exclusive breastfeeding. Results: Results of the research produced p value = 0.002 indicating a significant correlation between education level of mother and attitude of exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion: A significant correlation between education level of mother and attitude of exclusive breastfeeding is found in area of Puskesmas Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency.
