- Introduction:Stunting is defined whenthe index of the height-for-age less than negative 2 of standard deviation or below average. Parenting is one of factors affecting stunting. Exclusive breastfeeding and the selection of street snacks are parts of parenting. Based on an initial survey conducted at Society Health Center of Gilingan Surakarta, it was found thatthe prevalence of stunting was high which was 15.8% and the implementation of exclusive breastfeeding was still low. Purpose: This research aimed to find the correlations between the duration of exclusive breastfeeding, the selection of street snacks and stunting in children of 36-59 month-oldat Society Health Center of Gilingan, Surakarta. Research Method: This research used cross-sectional design and had 47 children and mothers as respondents. The variable used in this research was the duration of breastfeeding which the data were obtained through cross-check questionnaire on exclusive breastfeeding. The selection of street snacks measured by conducting interview using20 question-questionnaire.Stunting which was the dependent variable, the data ware obtained through anthropometry measurements.Product moment correlations tests were used to asses the correlations. Result: There was 23.4% children who were stunting. The average of exclusive breastfeeding duration was 3.19 months. The number of children who were exclusively breastfeeding was 19.1%. The results of product moment correlations showed stunting had no relations with exclusive breastfeeding duration (p=0,229) and street snacks (p=0,928) Conclusion: Based on the results of the research, there was no correlations between the duration of exclusive breastfeeding, the selection of street snacks, and stunting in 36-59 month-oldchildren at Society Health Center.of Gilingan, Surakarta.
