- Knowledge is sensing on a particular object, and therefore contributes to a person's actions, while swamedikasi action is a treatment that is done alone in treating diseases that are considered minor as a cough. Cough reflex itself is a respiratory tract to remove foreign objects that enter. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge to the selection of cough medicine in swamedikasi in society. This research is non-experimental research (quantitative) with a descriptive method using a questionnaire to the respondent amounted to 165 people aged 18-60 years with an average yield knowledge of the standard deviation of 56.50 with 16.830 incoming medium category. The accuracy of the selection of cough medicine in a rational swamedikasi is 47.3% and 52.7% who are not rational, so that it can be concluded that there is significant correlation between knowledge with the selection of drugs on society swamedikasi cough in Sukoharjo, Central Java 2014.
