- Manila sapodilla (Manilkara achras) is one of medicinal plant that has the potential as a natural medicine. Manila sapodilla contains flavonoids, tanins, alkaloids, terpenoids, and saponins that potential as antibacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanolic extract of the stem bark of Manila sapodilla against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Klebsiella pneumonia. The stem bark of Manila sapodilla was extracted using ethanol using maceration method. The extract was tested against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Klebsiella pneumonia using disk diffusion method. The test results showed ethanolic extract of stem bark of Manila sapodilla at concentration of 500-4000 μg has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Klebsiella pneumonia with inhibition zone diameter of 6.5 -15.5 mm. The compounds that were believed to have antibacterial activity were polyphenols, saponins, tanins, and alkaloids
