  • This study aims todescribetheimplementation ofthe communicationstrategy oflearning mathematicsteaching andlearning iscontextuallearningin classVIII BSMPMuhammadiyah10 Surakarta. This type of researchin this studyis thePTK(PenelitianTindakanKelas). Subjectsreceivingactionis classVIII BSMPMuhammadiyah10 Surakarta, amounting to 10and31 studentsaresubjectgiveractionVIIIBgrademath teacherSMPMuhammadiyah10 Surakarta. Data collection wasconductedthrough observation, field notes, anddocumentation. Toensure thevalidity of the data, using thetechnique oftriangulation.The dataanalysis techniquein descriptivequalitativeflowmethodcomprisingdata reduction, data presentation, and conclusion.The results showedan increase incommunicationstudents in learningmathematics. It canbe seenfrom thestudents who1)abilityin writing beforeaction25.8%andafter the acthad increased by77.4%, 2)verbalabilitymeasures16.1%beforeand after theacthad increased by61.2%, 3) the abilitytodrawbefore action19.3%andafter the acthad increased by74.9%, 4)the ability toexplain the conceptsbeforeandafter the9.6%actionactionincreased by61.2%. Based on this studyconcludedthat the implementation ofcontextualteaching andlearning strategiesto improve communicationstudentlearningin mathematics learningin classVIII BSMPMuhammadiyah10 Surakarta.
