- Profile of Ethnomusicological departement of Indonesia Institute of The Arts in Yogakarta (ISI Yogyakarta) determined by institution status, local social life, and governmental policy. The donation from Indonesian government to ISI Yogyakarta as consequence of a state mstutution and the predicat Yogyakarta as a city of education have made education in Yogyakarta considerated as prestigious and cheap. It motivates a lot of youngster to go toI'ogyakarta in order to study and this contribution has produced more multiethnic society [in] Yogyakarta. On the other hand Yogyakarta government accepts it and views it as an enormous cultural asset. It is fact that this certain atmosphere academic has influenced the curriculum of Ethnomu sicological Departement of Indonesia Institute of The Arts in Yogyakarta.
