Spirit seni kontemporer melalui konsep postmodernisme yang mengakui dan menghargai pluralitas dan oleh karenanya memberi peluang bagi para seniman untuk mengembangkan nilai-nilai lokal dan tradisi bangsa mana pun untuk masuk ke dalamnya.
Dalam penelitian ini akan membahas mengapa konsepsi tradisi lokal Bali menjadi pilihan yang menarik perhatian perupa muda Bali era tahun 2000-an dalam proses penciptaan lukisan di Yogyakarta serta bagaimana hasil interpretasi perupa akademis Bali terhadap konsep lokal Bali tersebut dalam lukisan yang menjadi spirit penciptaan karyanya.
Latar budaya yang kerap menjadi inspirasi dan acuan berkarya adalah budaya Bali dan Jawa. Karya seni yang mereka hasilkan tentunya tidak bisa terlepas dari pengaruh latar budaya yang bersangkutan. Kaitannya dengan penelitian ini tentunya persoalan pembacaan dan penafsiran terhadap konsepsi tradisi lokal Bali menjadi dasar pemaparan untuk melihat bagaimana visualitas estetika perupa muda akademis asal Bali dalam mengejawantahkan konsepsi mental tersebut ke dalam wujud karya seni lukisan. Versi dalam bahasa Inggris:Contacted with the development issues of contemporary art, it certainly gives its own influence on the direction and volatility of academic creativity of the artists. The spirit of contemporary art through the concept of postmodernism that recognize and appreciate the plurality and therefore provide an opportunity for artists to develop local values and traditions of any nation to enter into it.
This research will discuss why the conception of local traditions of Bali into choices that attract young Balinese artist in the era of 2000s in the process of creating a painting in Yogyakarta as well as how the results of academic artists interpretation of the concept of local Bali that become the spirit of his creation.
Inspiration often come from Cultural background and reference of the work is the culture of Bali and Java. Artworks that they produce must not be separated from the influence of cultural background is concerned.
