  • Abstrak Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) saat ini digunakan dalam komunikasi nirkabel. Sistem OFDM dapat memberikan kekebalan dalam multi-path fading dan mengurangi kompleksitas equalizer. Kerugian utama OFDM ialah mempunyai Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) relatif tinggi. Sinyal yang mempunyai peak yang tinggi dapat diperoleh dari superposisi subcarrier-subcarrier. Intermodulasi terjadi karena efek distorsi nonlinear. Hal ini dapat diinterpretasikan sebagai Inter Carrier Interferences (ICI) dan out-of-band radiation. Oleh karena itu, PAPR yang tinggi harus direduksi. Dalam penelitian ini diamati berbagai variasi metode Clipping – Filtering (CF), Selective Mapping (SLM) dan Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) untuk mereduksi PAPR dari sinyal OFDM. Grafik Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function (CCDF) digunakan sebagai tolok ukur kinerja masing-masing metode pereduksi PAPR. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kinerja metode CF dengan CR = 2 diperoleh reduksi PAPR sebesar 3,78 dB pada CF 1 iterasi ; 5,23 dB pada CF 2 iterasi dengan CCDF=10-4. Kinerja metode SLM dengan N=2 diperoleh reduksi PAPR sebesar 1,58 dB ; N=4 sebesar 2,82 dB dengan CCDF=10-4. Kinerja metode PTS dengan M=128 diperoleh reduksi PAPR sebesar 1,78 dB ; M=256 sebesar 1,81 dB dengan CCDF=10-4. An OFDM-based system can provide greater immunity to multi-path fading and reduce the complexity of equalizers. The main drawback of OFDM is its high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). The signal with large peaks can be obtained by constructive superposition of subcarriers. Peaks are distorted nonlinearly due to amplifier imperfection. The intermodulation product occurs as effect of nonlinear distortion. They can be interpreted as inter carrier interferences (ICI) and out-of-band radiation. Therefore, high PAPR must be reduced. In this research, Clipping – Filtering (CF), Selective Mapping (SLM) and Partial Transmit Sequence ( PTS) method is proposed to reduce PAPR of OFDM signal. Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function (CCDF) curve is used to measure the performance improvement of these proposed method. From the experiment result, we get the result of CF method with CR=2,this value was according to reduction result of 3,78 dB of PAPR with CF 1 iteration; 5,23 dB with CF 2 iterations with CCDF=10-4.The test of SLM method that N=2 resulted 1,58 dB of PAPR reductions, N=4 resulted 2,82 dB of PAPR reductions with CCDF=10-4.The test of PTS method that M=128 resulted 1,78 dB of PAPR reductions, M=256 resulted 1,81 dB of PAPR reductions with CCDF=10-4.
