- A company is considered success when it is able to do every activities based on the hope on the company's operation. In order to maximize the value of this company, it can be related with company's profitability level that has been reached. As financial information, company's profitability level will give more advantages because of its examination to profitability is stated implicitly its management ability in a whole and in a relative way. Therefore, there is a need of empirical observation to factors that influence it. This research is done to examine the influence of human productivity, total asset turnover, liquidity, and capital structure to the profitability of PT. Varian Usaha Gresik, in which its examination technique is done completely to free variables and tied variables by using multiple linear regression test technique. The procedure of this research is collecting secondary data from PT. Varian Usaha Gresik, that include annual monetary report that started from 1994 until 2005 along with its human resources productivity, total asset turnover, liquidity and its capital structure. Besides using secondary data from company's financial report, in this research, qualitative data related with company operation is also used. The result of data collection and regression analysis, this research shows that simultaneous test to free variables that consists of human productivity, total asset turnover, liquidity ratio and capital structure shows that it has significant enough influence to the profitability of company. Meanwhile, from free variable examination (partial), capital structure shows biggest contribution when it is compared with other variable in influencing the profitability level of company. For PT. Varian Usaha Gresik, the result of this research is hopefully will be able to be used as input material for management to give more attention to capital structure management efficiently and effectively.
