A STUDY OF BUSINESS ENGLISH STUDENTS’ ATTITUDE TOWARD THE TEACHING MATERIALS USED AT CENTRE FOR LANGUAGE TRAINING (CLT)

- English is increasingly more important for global businesses. The aims of this study is to investigate students‟ attitude towards the teaching materials they used in CLT. The writer used a close -ended questionnaire to collect the data. The questionnaire was divided by 5 sections and in total there were 41 items. She distributed the questionnaire to 50 students from the 2 nd semester of Economy and Business Faculty. After that, to analyze the data, she used SPSS 22 (Statistical Package for Social Science) to find the mean and valid percent of the students‟ attitude based on the questions and statements in the questionnaires. The result showed that almost all of the students have a positive attitude to the lesson. From the responses, “Reading Strategies” lessons were considered as an important lesson. Also, the other lesson such as “Accounting Vocabulary” and “Presentation Rules” were considered as an important lesson to understand English. Furthermore, “Accounting Vocabulary” and “Presentation Rules” are also considered as important parts to help students in the future career.
