- Today, the problem of environmental damage s quite a concern. These conditions encourage behavioral changes in consumption, from ordinary products to products categorized as “green products” Green products have a particular segment called a green consumer, the segment that has environmentally conscious shopping or consumption. Green purchasing intentions drive someone to choose environmentally friendly products. By using regression analysis, this study aims to determine purchasing behavior of organic food products. The hypothesis formulated in this study is that the perceived seriousness of environmental problems, environmental responsibility, the effectiveness of environmental behavior, and Self-image in environment protection influence green purchasing behavior. The subject of this study is the middle to upper economic class society. The results show that environmental responsibility, the effectiveness of environmental behavior, and self-image in environmental protection positively significantly influence green purchasing. On the other hand, the perceived seriousness of environmental problems does not influence. This study also shows the differences in organic food purchasing behavior between men and women. Women tend to have higher organic food purchasing behavior.
