Daftar Isi:
- Wayang kulit is a performing art that has existed and is very popular in Java and some other parts of Indonesia since the 10th century Wayang kulit is a traditional theater that uses puppets made of buffalo hide. The puppets depict mythological or fictional characters. These puppets are manipulated by a puppeteer called dhalang. Wayang kulit is a cultural heritage which now has become a cultural industry that still survives in the midst of a myriad of modern performing arts. This study focuses on the business processes involved in this art form. The study found that a complete business process occurs: marketing, financial management, HR management, operation and innovation. In this business the dalang is the key figure; he/she is on the one hand a cultural actor who should be concerned with the integrity of the cultural heritage, on the other hand he/she as a businessman who must meet the demands of the market in order to sustain his/her business. At the end of the paper we suggest that there is a need to conduct research on the entrepreneurial aspect of the dalang.
