  • This research was conducted to find out how the employee selection process conducted by PT. Astra International Tbk-Daihatsu Semarang and what criteria are considered by the company, so that the employee can be accepted. This research uses qualitative research methods and qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The method of data collection in this study through interview techniques with interview guides, and resource persons by the head of HRD and ten sales employees. The results showed that the selection process of PT. Astra International Tbk- Daihatsu Semarang passed eight stages. In each stage of the selection, what things arise will be the criteria for the candidates to pass or not at each stage of the selection. These criteria can arise through two perspectives, namely the head of HRD as a company representative and sales employee who has worked for a maximum of one year.
