  • Safe, fast, comfortable and inexpensive urban transportation needs to be attempted by the authorities. However, many facts indicate that the irregular conditions of transport as more vehicles and congestion caused by the use of private vehicles, especially motorcycles that occurred in medium towns and big cities in Indonesia. This dissertation focuses on the development of indicators and benchmarks the performance of urban public transport services with varieties of service, and to plan for performance performance assessment of public transport services by accommodating the desires of passengers and non-passengers and designing an application for assessment of performance. The research applies questionnaire and interview techniques for data collection. The data are analyzed by applying matrix performance importance and method impact score, descriptive analysis and statistical tests. This research produced a number of key findings namely; the poor quality of urban public transport services, incomprehensive planning system, and imbalances of facilities and infrastructure, so that the urban public transport is deemed impractical, inflexible and uncomfortable and expensive. The assessment consists of seven major categories such as accessibility, reliability/accuracy, safety, comfort, tariff, infrastructure and facilities. Penjangkau Kota that aims to assess the performance of urban public transport with bus transport modes .This application can be used to assess the performance of urban public transport services with the conditions of medium towns and big cities in Indonesia . This research recommends that the choice of the last step as an effort for solving problems of transportation in medium and big towns needs to be immediately considered with the use of MRT such as monorail. Future researches on the same topic should involve all the stake holders
