- The title of this research is : “The Legal Protection for members Free Syrian Army (FSA) in Syrian Armed Conflict under International Humanitarian Law” . The Armed conflict that occurred in syria between the Syrian government and the Syrian Liberation Army very clearly visible presence of wrongful acts under International Humanitarian Law. Free Syrian Army who were arrested were not treated as prisoners of war but they tried as criminals. This research method used is a normative legal research. Data was collected through literature and interviews with officer of ICRC in Jakarta. The data was analyzed with qualitative methods. Based on the data analyzed, it can be concluded that Internasional Humanitarian Law, the FSA requirement as legal combatants, so if the were captured by Syrian Army they should be treated as prisoners of war.
