- This study raised about the role of ASEAN in dispute resolution between Indonesia and Malaysia claim relating to issues Ambalat block. Ambalat block is the marine area off ontinen form located on the border between Indonesia and Malaysia in the Sulawesi Sea. ASEAN as an international organization that houses the two countries is expected to help resolve the existing problems. This study aimed to determine the role of ASEAN in dispute resolution among its members. This research uses deductive method, the data obtained with doing research in the Secretariat-General of ASEAN. The results showed the weakness of ASEAN are not able to play a role in resolving conflicts among its members due to the non-intervention principle of Asean owned. This makes the non-functioning of the ASEAN High Council in resolving the conflict. ASEAN has so far not to crack because it is limited by the principle.
