  • Food is one of the human needs that plays a very important role. In its fulfillment, food must have the best feasibility, safety, cleanliness, quality and nutrition. The existing food safety is protected by the existence of a distribution permit, which is the inclusion of SPP-IRT Number in food packages that are used and distributed in the market, especially in the Punung Market. The existence of an SPP-IRT number can help in consumer protection, where consumer rights can be protected by the distribution permit of the product used. There are 2 (two) problem formulations in this research, namely: (1) How is the implementation of the use of the Home Industry Food Production Certificate Number (SPP-IRT) for food packaging at Punung Market, Regency?, (2) How is the monitoring process carried out? by the District Food Inspector (DFI) on products on the market ?. Based on the results of the research, the conclusion is that the implementation of the use of SPP-IRT numbers is still found in many food products that do not include the distribution permit, then the existing food supervisors are deemed less than optimal because there are no routine checks carried out.
