- In early 2019 the people of Karangnongko Sewon Bantul Hamlet gave a report to the Bantul DLH, this reporting was caused by contamination of their irrigation channels. in this case of pollution the community said they had felt this pollution for more than 10 years. The irrigation canal contamination is suspected came from PT Samitex's waste disposal. Based on the the case above, the author made this thesis with purpose of finding out the local government role especially the Bantul local government, is it appropriate with Indonesian environmental law. In this study, the author used an empirical legal method and the author conducted field research and conducted interviews with related parties. The results show that the Bantul Regional Government has done their jon appropriately based on provisions stipulated in the Indonesian Environmental Law. the Bantul Regional Government together with DLH DIY solved this problem through mediation method.
