- The purpose of this study is to investigate and assess the implementation of the extension of Building Rights (HGB) which have expired based on Law Number 13 of 2012 concerning the Privileges of the Special Region of Yogyakarta; and understand the obstacles that arise in the extension of building usufructuary rights that have expired. Type of this research is emperical legal research, the research to obtain primary data as the main data. the method used in this research is normative juridical approach, which analyzed the problem in this study from the viewpoint or according to provisions of law/ legislation applicable. The methhod of data analysis used in this researc is descriptive qualitative The result of this study are (1)The Extension of Building Rights (HGB) that has expired in Yogyakarta after the enactment of Law Number 13 of 2012 concerning Yogyakarta Privileges is based on Government Regulation Number 40 of 1996, Government Regulation Number 24 of 1997 and Minister of Agrarian Regulation Number 9 of 1999, Special Region of Yogyakarta Regulation Number 1 of 2017 and Special Region of Yogyakarta Regulation Number 1 of 2017. Extension of Building Use Rights in Yogyakarta is currently divided into 2 categories namely Sultan Ground Land (SG) and not Sultan Ground(SG) Land; and (2) The obstacles that arise in the extension of the Right to Build Buildings that have expired are two types, namely the land of disputes and incompleteness in juridical data and physical data.
