  • Ayung River in Balinese comes from the word Tukad Ayung, is the longest river in Bali. Where Tukad means river and Ayung comes from the word Ayu which means beautiful. Based on Article 37 paragraph 2 of the Regional Regulation No.16 of 2012 concerning the Gianyar Regency Spatial Plan, it is explained that the river border distance of rural areas with rivers with a depth of 3 meters or more has a borderline limit of 15 meters. This means that no building erected at this limit is intended for public purposes. Even so, there are still people or entrepreneurs who use the border to support their activities such as Rafting, Villas, Hotels or Resorts. Therefore, there is a need for legal protection for river border areas to maintain the continuity of the ecosystem itself. However, local government have some obstacles due to the geographical area especially in remote area. Even though, many people who care about their environment makes report regarding their environment. So, local government can optimize their work based on the report.
