  • This thesis entitled Legal Protection of The Coastal Border Area Based on Gunungkidul Distrist Regulation No. 6 of 2011 Gunungkidul On Spatial Planning Gunungkidul Year 2010-2030. Formulation of the problem in this study is whether the legal protection of the beach area based on The Gunungkidul District Regulation No.6 of 2011 on Spatial Planning Gunungkidul Year 2010- 2030. Sources of data in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. This study used a qualitative analysis that an analysis of how the results of research that produces descriptive data analytical data expressed by the respondent in writing or orally, and also the behavior of the real, which is researched and studied as something intact. And in drawing conclusions using inductive way of thinking is to draw conclusions from things that are common to the things that are special. This study is not This study is not in accordance with Gunungkidul Distrist Regulation No. 6 of 2011 Gunungkidul On Spatial Planning Gunungkidul Year 2010-2030. This is all respondents did not have a space utilization permit in the coastal zones, so that many spatial use activities are not in accordance with the direction of the function of the area. There are many cultivation activities that should not be in the coastal border area, such as restaurants, playgrounds, public showers / toilets that all activities do not have a space utilization permit. Based on this, the authors conclude that the legal protection of coastal zones in the district of Gunungkidul has not been fully implemented. There needs to be a clear zoning regulations to control the spatial use activities that are inconsistent with the direction of the functioning of the area, and can restore the function of the coastal border area as a protected area. In this case, it’s hoped that the district government of Gunungkidul will soon finish the discussion of the draft of the regional regulation on the spatial detail plan. So that the organization of spatial arrangement is not only based on Gunungkidul Distrist Regulation No. 6 of 2011 Gunungkidul On Spatial Planning Gunungkidul Year 2010-2030, but also equipped with other implementing regulations. In addition, the spatial use actors in coastal zones are expected to preserve the environment in the region and it is expected to follow the requirements and procedures appropriate building permit set by the government before undertaking spatial use activities in areas designated as local protected areas.
