- The title of this thesis is the police effort to overcome football gambling via SMS criminal case in Surakarta. Then the aim of this thesis are : to know how the police effort to overcome football gambling via SMS criminal case in Surakarta, and to know the police’s constraints to effort the football gambling via SMS criminal case in Surakarta. The result of this research are: The police has seven ways to effort the soccer gambling via SMS criminal case such as: gathering information, track the cell phone signal, take a gamble, disguise, lurking, arrest suspects and seized evidence, and giving information dissemination and outreach, in addition the police have been cooperate with cell phone provider company. The police’s constraints to effort football gambling via SMS are: view that gambling is the fastest way to get rich, lack of community participation in order to giving information about gambling to police, leakage of information about police raids, limited numbers of police facilities and infrastructures, lighter sentence, the prosecutors often return the case file to the police.
