  • The results of this study are: In the context of freedom of belief, religion and worship in Indonesia, the police also have a responsibility in preventing potential violence as well as crack down on acts of violence that allegedly have a motive to threaten religious and religious life. Police roles and obligations in ensuring the protection of freedom of belief, religion, and worship are not specifically regulated. However, there is general agreement in Law No. 2 of 2002 on the Indonesian National Police which has several functions such as maintaining security and public order which can of course be used to provide a framework for guaranteeing the protection of freedom of belief, religion and worship in Indonesia. Security and public order is a dynamic condition of society as one of the prerequisites for the implementation of national development process in order to achieve the national objectives marked by the guarantee of security, order, and law enforcement, as well as the establishment of tranquility, which has the capacity to nurture and develop the potential and power of society in counteracting , Prevent, and overcome all forms of violation of law and other forms of disturbance that may be troubling the public. Domestic security is a condition marked by ensuring security and public order, orderliness and enforcement of the law, and the implementation of protection, shelter and service to the public.
