- The purpose of this research is to know and analyze the factors that affect the n1oney supply in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY). The research is done through three phases. The first phase, calculating the currency outside bank in Daerah lstimewa Yogyakarta using various possible approaches. The second, finding the superior sectors using• shift share method. The third, estimating with econometrics•model to know the factors that affect the . money supply in Daerah lstimewa Yogyakarta. The quarterly data is taken from year 1993 2002. The conclusion of this research is that the money supply in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, especially the currency outside bank, demand deposits, and the narrow money • (MJ), the broad money (M2) can be predicted base on arranged model. Then, factors that affect the money supply, in the case of the currency outside bank, MJ, and M2 in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta are the output of building sectors, transportation and communication sectors,financial sectors, rental,business service, and the interest rate.
