- The purpose of this writing is one of the requirements for obtaining a law degree. The practical objectives to be achieved to find out and analyze the actions of installing surveillance cameras or CCTV in bathrooms can be held to account for crimes in terms of Law No. 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography. The results of the study indicate that the act of A, as an installer for surveillance cameras or CCTV in a boarding house's bathroom can be subject to criminal liability because it has fulfilled 4 (four) elements of error. 15 (fifteen) Students of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University, Serang, Banten, reported to Serang Kota Police Station at the behest of A as the owner and manager of the boarding house in the Panglima Ward, Suka Jaya Village, Curug Subdistrict, Serang City. Starting with one student, he suspected that a surveillance camera or CCTV was installed in the girls' dorm room. This student then checked by taking a surveillance camera or CCTV mounted on a ceiling located in the corner of the bathroom. The surveillance camera or CCTV turned out to be connected with a cable of about 5 (five) to 10 (ten) meters to A's shop that is not far from the daughter's boarding house. A admitted that he had installed a surveillance camera or CCTV for approximately one year. The reason for installing surveillance cameras or CCTV is mere fad. A said that when he heard the sound of the princess boarding house occupants bathing, A hurriedly turned on the surveillance camera or CCTV monitor. The case of the installation of surveillance cameras or CCTV in the girls' boarding house in Serang, Banten was stopped by Serang District Police. Based on the results of coordination with prosecutors, the case has no criminal element because there is no recorded content, there is also no disseminated content for the ITE article.
