- Majapahit was the last of Hindhuism-Buddhism Kingdom which controlled Nusantara and considered as one of the biggest country in Indonesian History. Great resources will be gained if we know how the design style and its characteristics in Majapahit’s era, and this will be very useful for designer in their creative process. Household tools are analized by visual and its content; so that Majapahit’s design style could be mapped. The results are forms of the Majapahit’s household tools dominated by geometrical form. The detailes are from organic form that inspired from human,animals, and plants. When they put detail inspired by animals, transformation technique is used, so that the new detail didn’t exactly the same with the inspiration. Details were formed into 3D (convex) and concave. The color obtained from terracota, sometimes they change it saturation in order to gain a new detail. Sources of Intellectual Property could be drawn from mapped characteristic of Majapahit’s product.
