Daftar Isi:
- Background: These days the obesity epidemic is rapidly becoming the biggest global health challenge including in Indonesia. Obesity can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease through several risk factors, including increased lipid profile levels such as total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides. LDL lipid profile plays an important role in atherogenesis and can potentially cause acute myocardial infarction. Objective: This study was conducted with the aim of describing the characteristics of obese patients and seeing the relationship between LDL lipid profile and the incidence of acute myocardial infarction in obese patients at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital Denpasar in 2016 - 2021. Method: This study used an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling was carried out by random sampling technique and obtained 141 medical record data of obese patients who were registered at the medical record installation of Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Denpasar and met the inclusion criteria. Result: Statistical test results showed that the average lipid profile levels of obese patients included total cholesterol (158.49 mg/dL), LDL (97.85 mg/dL), HDL (34.81 mg/dL), and triglycerides (161.79 mg/dl). The results of the chi-square analysis is p-value ? 0.05 indicating that there was a significant relationship between the LDL lipid profile and the incidence of acute myocardial infarction in obese patients at Prof. Ngoerah hospital Denpasar 2016 - 2021. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between LDL lipid profile and the incidence of acute myocardial infarction in obese patients at Prof. Ngoerah hospital Denpasar 2016 - 2021.
