- This study aims to determine the relationship between anemia in pregnant women with the incidence of low birth weight babies in hospitals Raden Mattaher Jambi period 19 April to 31 May 2013. The study design was a descriptive-analytic cross sectional approach. The study was conducted in the delivery room part Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Raden Mattaher Jambi on 19 April to 31 May 2013. Sample size was 97 samples. Data collection in this study used secondary data which medical records. Data were analyzed using Chi Square analysis. Results of this study showed the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in hospitals Raden Mattaher Jambi period 19 April to 31 May 2013 were 56 (57.7%). The incidence of low birth weight babies in hospitals Raden Mattaher Jambi period 19 April - 31 May 2013 was 12 (12.4%). Chi Square analysis of the results showed an association of anemia in pregnant women with the incidence of low birth weight babies. P-value (p = 0.026) and Odds Ratio (OR) = 9.778. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between anemia in pregnant women with the incidence of low birth weight babies in hospitals Raden Mattaher Jambi period 19 April to 31 May 2013.
