  • Banking sector in Indonesia has enormous potential to grow. The large unbanked population, quick mobile & internet penetration, and advancement of digital technologies have propelled the fast-moving trend toward digital banking services. Being a data-driven decision-making organization is essential to win the competition in the digital era. However, there are several flaws in managing knowledge and learning in Indonesian banking organizations which may become impediments to achieve that goal. This research focuses on investigation through multiple case studies involving several banks in Indonesia that have already started their digital transformation to better understand the following: (1) how does KM 4.0 strategy help the Digital Banking Innovation, (2) what are the required Digital Competency Level 4.0 for banking organization and how it aligns with KM 4.0 strategy, (3) how does Learning Interaction Model between knowledge actors in 4.0 era i.e. humans and machines effect relationship between Digital Competency Level and KM 4.0 strategy. This is ongoing research, nevertheless, some early findings and observations will be presented. The results are expected to become a useful reference to banking partitioners as well as for future research.
