- This paper discusses the urgency of halal certification policy reforms. Halal product is crucial for the people of Islam. Problems arise when the opening of the free flow of goods on the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 where trade in goods will be carried out freely without hindrance. In Indonesia, halal certification held by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). MUI halal certification is not recognized by other countries because it doesn’t have legal basis to issue halal certification So this will inhibit free alilran goods in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2015.
