- The aim of this study is to find out the types of figurative language in Bruno Mars’ sing lyric in the album entitled Doo-wops and Hooligans. This study used descriptive qualitative because the researcher would like to describe about the types of figurative language found in the Bruno Mars’ sing lyrics in the album entitled Doo- wops and Hooligans. In this research, the researcher takes the data from Bruno Mars’ song lyrics. The researcher chooses one album entitled Doo-wops and Hooligans. The researcher used documentation method to collect the data. She did the steps such as reading, indicating, signing, collecting, and coding the data. The result of this study shows that there are six types of figurative language in Bruno Mars’ sing lyrics in the album entitled Doo-wops and Hooligans. There are three similes, eight metaphors, sixteen overstatements (hyperboles), two symbols, one irony and two personifications. Overstatement (hyperbole) is the most dominant figurative language. It is the highest number in percentage of 50%. (Key words: Figurative language, Bruno Mars, Song lyric, Album, Doo-wops and Hooligans)
