  • This study investigates the use of figurative language involved in the English translation of surah Al-Hajj. The objectives are to find out the variations and the most dominant figurative language used in English Translation of Al-Quran surah Al-Hajj. Figurative language is language that uses figure of speech. This study used descriptive qualitative approach. The variations of figurative language found in Al-Hajj are simile (1.5%), metaphor (4.8%), metonym (22.2%), apostrophe (6.4%), overstatement (4.8%), synecdoche (3.2%), symbol (36.5%), allegory (9.5%), and personification (11.1%). The figurative language that is most dominant is symbol with percentage 36.5%. Keywords: Figurative Language, English Translation, Al-Qur’an, Surah Al-Hajj.
