- ABSTRACT Digital image processing can be used in the applications of computer vision, one of which is the object classification. Classification of eggs used to determine the quality of eggs that includes internal quality and external quality. One aspect of the external egg quality is in terms of cleanliness of the eggshell whether there is dirt on the eggshel or not. Digital image processing on the image of the egg is done by preprocessing to convert to binary image which are further identified wheter there is dirt on the eggshell. Programs designed can determine whether an egg has a good quality or not with the information that eggs is in clean or dirty conditions. The results stated that the image quality of the eggs, image preprocessing and classification methods greatly affect the outcome of the classification of the eggs. Key Words : classification, eggshell,image processing ABSTRAK Pengolahan citra digital dapat digunakan dalam aplikasi di bidang computer vision, salah satunya adalah klasifikasi objek. Klasifikasi telur digunakan untuk menentukan mutu (kualitas) telur yang meliputi kualitas internal dan kualitas eksternal. Salah satu aspek kualitas eksternal telur ditinjau dari kebersihan kerabang telur yaitu ada tidaknya kotoran yang menempel pada kerabang telur. Pengolahan citra digital pada citra telur dilakukan dengan pra pengolahan dengan mengubah ke citra biner yang selanjutnya diidentifikasi ada tidaknya kotoran yang pada kerabang telur. Program yang dirancang dapat menentukan sebuah telur mempunyai mutu yang bagus atau tidak dengan informasi bahwa telur dalam kondisi bersih atau kotor. Hasil yang diperoleh menyatakan bahwa kualitas citra telur, proses pengolahan citra dan metode klasifikasi sangat mempengaruhi hasil klasifikasi telur.
