- The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of school social environment to wards the students character formation of eleventh grade social students’ at SMA Negeri 1 Trimurjo. Data collection technique in this study is qualitative with survey methods using the percentage formula. The results of data analysis showed that there was a positive effect between criteria social environment on the students character formation with 51% considered as the quite well criteria meaning that school social environment gave effect or contribution to the students character formation.Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh lingkungan sosial sekolah terhadap pembentukan karakter peserta didik Kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Trimurjo. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode survey menggunakan rumus persentase. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa ada pengaruh positif antara lingkungan sosial sekolah terhadap pembentukan karakter peserta didik terdapat 51% masuk dalam kriteria cukup baik artinya lingkungan sosial sekolah memberi pengaruh atau kontribusi terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa.Kata kunci: karakter, lingkungan sosial sekolah, pengaruh
