- This study aims to determine the increase in cognitive history learning outcomes of SMAN 1 Terbanggi Besar students years 2017/2018. The method of this research is the experimental method. The sample in this study was students of class XI IPS 3 using simpel random sampling technique. The data collection tool is a test of the results of historical learning in the material of Mercantilism and capitalism. The results of this study are an increase in the history of learning outcomes of students of class XI IPS 3. The results of student history learning are obtained from Pre-research, Meeting I and Meeting II with the success criteria of 70%. The conclusion in this study is the use of Snowball Throwing learning model can improve cognitive learning outcomes of students' history up to 48%.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya peningkatan hasil belajar Sejarah kognitif siswa SMAN 1 Terbanggi Besar Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Metode penelitian ini ialah metode eksperimen. Sampel dalam penelitian ini ialah siswa Kelas XI IPS 3 dengan menggunakan teknik simpel random sampling. Alat pengumpulan data adalah tes hasil belajar Sejarah pada materi Merkantilisme dan Kapitalisme. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu adanya peningkatan hasil belajar Sejarah siswa Kelas XI IPS 3. Hasil belajar Sejarah siswa diperoleh dari Prapenelitian, Pertemuan I dan Pertemuan II dengan kriteria keberhasilan sebesar 70%. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar ranah kognitif Sejarah siswa sebesar 48%.Kata kunci: hasil belajar Sejarah, peningkatan, snowball throwing
