- The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of positive and significant Brainstorming by medium visual as a medium of learning the history of the cognitive achievement of students in class X in SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. The method used is the type of experimental research methods Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Based on the analysis of quantitative data using the formula Eta obtained yield was 0,44 so there is a significant positive effect, by calculating the average posttest with a test formula F obtained yield was 10,73 significant meaning, since F count> F table = 4,08.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan Brainstorming dengan media visual pada pembelajaran sejarah terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo.Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian eksperimen tipe Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Berdasarkan analisis data secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan rumus Eta diperoleh hasil sebesar 0,44 jadi ada pengaruh positif yang cukup berarti, dengan menghitung rata-rata Posttest dengan rumus uji F diperoleh hasil sebesar 10,73 artinya signifikan, karena Fhitung> Ftabel = 4,08.Kata kunci: brainstorming, media visual, pengaruh
